Good Friday Morning, Friends! My Soul Intention: Your ability to survive should never be placed in the hands of someone else’s generosity. People try to do the right thing and give money to those who struggle. Giving is an act of kindness, until it’s not. When you constantly give to someone who is capable of doing for themselves you enable them. When you give to someone without encouraging them to get a job, go back to school or make a plan, you’re telling them that you think they’re as helpless as they themselves believe. There are shelters, online schools, and jobs if you’re willing to abide by the rules and commit to making it. No, it may not be your first choice, and no, it may not be as easy as begging or looking for a handout. But, yes, you will feel more confident. Yes, you will feel more in control of your own life. Yes, you can stop victimizing yourself. Everyone has the potential to be the best version of themselves, but it doesn’t just happen. You have to show effort to achieve growth.
