Good Friday Morning, Friends! My Soul Intention: who you say you are is who you become. The minute we are born we are in a process of becoming. Those closest to us tell us who we are as we grow. Things such as, “You’re like your dad.” “You’re like your mom.” “You’re like Uncle Bud or Aunt Lisa.” It doesn’t end with our parents. Our teachers, youth leaders and friends define us too. These people are part of who you believe you are, and you begin telling yourself who you are based on what they say and what you believe. As you get older all of these tapes are in your mind, and you are a tapestry of thousands of opinions based on people who knew or know you. Being responsible and mature means you begin defining yourself by your actions, beliefs and values. It’s wise to listen to others’ views, but wiser still to listen to your own thoughts. What comes after introducing yourself with “I am…..” is your reality.
