Good Saturday Morning, Friends! My Soul Intention: Today is a perfect day to use your “good” China. I grew up in the Midwest, and in the Midwest potluck dinners are the highlight of the week, month or year! The idea behind a potluck is to have everyone bring a dish to pass, and the host serves the meat and drinks. They are a blast and you never know what you’re going to get. When I lived in Lubbock, Texas, I was socially bored so I had many potlucks. When I moved a friend of mine, while hugging me with tears streaming down her face, told me she would miss my dinners. Her tears were those of gratitude for my messy avant-garde potlucks served on fine china. She found it irreverent yet comical because she grew up in a traditional home where “good” china is used for formal gatherings. What my friend graciously overlooked is my serious weakness in the kitchen. Rather than focus on what I couldn’t do (cook) she relished the mood and excitement of the evening (potlucks are fun)! Your weakness is your greatest strength when you accept it and focus on doing what you love. Every occasion is a good occasion to celebrate. There is no right or wrong time to bring out the good china!
